With a background in painting and the arts Sandra started using the camera in her early twenties, fascinated by the medium’s capacity to open doors to the otherworldly yet remaining grounded in the present.

Whilst drawing on the pictorial world of painting, she uses storytelling by exploring filmic narrative moments within her photographs, yet strives to always create images which stand alone with strong iconic and graphical qualities.

Sandra honed her technical skills over many years studying in the UK at prestigious art schools and working for top independent fashion magazines, though always keeping her Swedish heritage close to her heart.

She is well known for her lighting using a combination of continuous, strobe and daylight, which draws inspiration from the Nordic light surrounding her growing up in Sweden.

With a cinematic, often disquieting quality, her imagery offers a unique, intensely female perspective. Recognisable yet versatile, her adaptable style means her portfolio boasts sophisticated advertising campaigns for high end brands as well as avant-guard editorials for independent magazines.

Whatever way you approach Sandra’s images the multifaceted possibilities she offers will awaken your curiosity in a way that is always memorable and timeless.
