Elisabeth Toll comes from a family of academics and she started photography after having studied history, anthropology, and law at university. Her interest in people and their surroundings has shaped her photographic vision and influenced her interpretation of fashion. She draws her inspiration from books, films, and conversations and likes telling a story in her images. She enjoys making portraits of both film stars, writers, and legionnaires. Elisabeth interprets landscapes and cityscapes during her various travels and incorporates it into her work. She enjoys most working on location with natural light but also likes creating stories in a studio as long as props, sets, or an original idea will allow her to create something out of the ordinary. She shares her time between Stockholm and Paris.
