KARI HIRVONEN

Kari Hirvonen launched his stylist career at the beginning of the 1990s. He was inspired by Steven Meisel and Italian Vogue and was certain of what he wanted to do at an early age. After a few years as an assistant he moved to New York in 1995 where he began to work independently. He stayed there until 2003 when he moved to London where he remains to this day.

Kari loves the creative freedom that his profession offers and he loves the longer, more challenging projects. His style is often elegant, well-tailored fashion that achieves a feeling of luxury no matter what the price tag reads. He does not only dress the model but often adds a special twist, an innovative way of wearing the garment, or unexpected and eye-catching accessories. One selects Kari Hirvonen when one wants something special.

Today Kari works both editorially and commercially. Until recently he was the fashion editor at Tyler Brulé’s magazine Monocle, but he also works with magazines such as Bon, Plaza, and Perfect.
His commercial clients include H & M, J. Lindeberg, Nokia, Armani Exchange, and MQ
