Marcus Ohlsson was born in 1979 and despite the fact that he has only worked for a few years as an independent photographer, he is highly sought-after and has received a lot of international attention.
Marcus chiefly photographs fashion and beauty, but for him the most important aspect is that the subject matter is people. He offers the models a lot of freedom in front of the camera, and he has been gifted with the ability to capture the uniqueness of each moment. Marcus likes working with existing light and on location. This results in photography that has a great deal of presence, and that is sensual, beautiful and nearly dreamlike.
Marcus is productive and has a number of editorial clients, among others Velvet, Elle, Tush, Bon, Vs and S-Magazine. Among his commercial assignments are H&M, L’Oréal, Piz Buin, Acne, Whyred and Boots. In order to pursue his passion for photography, Marcus left high school to study photography at Kulturama. After that he spent six years assisting Mikael Jansson, Calle Stoltz and Camilla Åkrans. Today he shares Damp Studios, together with a group of artists, writers, designers, directors and photographers.
